So SNOOZE was back at PHS on Wednesday and Thursday! Programme started at 7.45 am which basically meant we had to be at the school by 6.30 am on the first day and 7 am on the second to do our sound checks, etc. This also meant, that for an EASTIE (someone who stays in the most happening part of S’pore – the EAST!) like me, I had to wake up at 5.30am just so I’d make in in time. Wah. Wasn’t a problem the 1st morning. But had some difficulties on the 2nd day.
Nevertheless, it was all worth it! Every bit of it! This, being my first time at the school (when most of the band have already been down twice before), was truly an eye-opener for me. It was also my first time ‘On the Road’ with SNOOZE to a school and would also mark the first of our many concerts for the month of October! We talked about masks that we put on in life to hide who we really are and the importance of being true to ourself and the people around us. We had the great privilege and honour of having Caleb Leng (lead actor of the short film – “Take a look at me” we screened) join us this time around. I interviewed him about his role in the film. He talked about how he could relate with the role he played in the film because he once had put on many masks/faces just to ‘look cool’ and be accepted by his friends. How true is that of you today?
Look in the mirror. Are you afraid of what you might see? Do you see yourself or somebody else? Somebody you wish you could be. (mostly taken from song A Thousand Faces by Alvin Ong)
It’s gonna be a really hetic month for us, with all the performances and rehearsals. But…I’m loving it anyhow! *WHOOTS* God is going to enable us all, even as we prepare for the year-end mission trip to India too! BoomZ!
On another note, I would like to share a memorable experience I had at PHS. It was on the 2nd day when I was tasked by my adorable, ‘hard-to-say-no-to’ band leader Dotz, to attract the attention of the students to our booth by SHOUTING and then SINGING. So guess what….I did just that. SHOUT out an announcement and then sing.
It all started with VIVA LA VIDA when this boy (i remember his name vaguely..Md. Famil or Samil) came up and sat right in-front of me. He looked on earnestly and started calling out to the rest of his classmates to come ‘check’ me out together with him. Soon, by end of the song, there were about 5-6 of them seated in front of me. I sang them a couple more songs (No boundaries, Brand new Shoes) and spent some time talking to them as well. Though short-lived, but I thoroughly enjoyed that moment I had with them. They even told me to join the Singapore Idol because I’m so much better than some of them. But o well..that’s another story altogether. Check out this pic I took with them before they the end-of-recess bell rung.

Oh, our next stop in our itinerary for October is at Republic Poly on the 14th of October!
Had a riotous photoshoot of sorts last night! Hee hee… it was lots of fun, and we realized it’s not very easy finding some cool pose for a group this size… thanks to Drew for framing the shots and Haiks for helping to shoot the pictures!
The lovely (and talented) Xinyi – vox, keys and violin!

Team pic with all our crew!
So sad that this is Noel and Crystal’s last gig with us, as they’re moving on to new phases of life and different priorities. It’s been SO great having them in the team this past year. We’ll miss them!!!
This Sat we will be performing at Church of the Good Shepherd. Really looking forward to being ‘in action’ again! Here’s the very cool publicity poster done by them!
We hope you will stay awake and enjoy every moment of it!
Check out Noel doing a cool job with the shaker, and our new member melvin on A-guit!
Really nice song, called Choose to Believe by Julianne Terrajo
I’ve been in and out of the light
Struggling from the fight
Vaguely tracing your footsteps
On the sand
Blinded by the things
I thought that life could bring
Lost in expectations
Unfulfilled
I know that life is a choice we make
Right or wrong
Give or take
Its only either way
But to choose the Lord is all that
Matters to me
And oh, He promises serenity
For those who
Choose to love
Choose to live
Choose to forgive
Wipe away my eyes
So I can see the way
You paved for me
Breathe choose to sing
And all of the beauty that You bring
But most of all
I choose to believe
I’ve been searching in
All the wrong places
When all of the answers
Were right in front of me
I needed my tears to see You clearly
I needed my pain to feel You near me
Rescue me
I know You can and you will
I know that life is a choice we make
Right or wrong
Give or take
Its only either way
But to choose the Lord is all that
Matters to me
And oh, He promises serenity
For those who
Choose to love
Choose to live
Choose to forgive
Wipe away my eyes
So I can see the way
You paved for me
Breathe choose to sing
And all of the beauty that You bring
But most of all
I choose to believe
1. Allowing my leave to be approve, and i am able to head for TS camp
2. The TS camp. Realli bless and amazed by all tt had happen
3. The people that i met during the camp. Realli cool! contiune to shine for God k!
Indeed it had been realli fruitful. Was all excited when i heard that snooze is invited to play for a camp in JB. Wohooo… All praise to dotz and econ for rushing thru the songs, the practice time, date etc.. honestly i felt alittle restricted when i heard cannot have this , cannot have tt.. etc etc.. haha.. diff from my normal kinda of worship…when i rch the place.. i realize that i have to use hot rods due to the room being small… Realize that the drums was like super out of tune.. eekz.. i can’t play wif a untune drums… did some rough tuning due to time constrain.. cant say tt it is fully tune thou.. but had to bear with it while playing… did felt alittle sian la… but God is good !! the svc was a blast….. the youth was crazy.. passionate.. in the end i use normal stick.. didnt care liaoz!! lolx!!!…. Sermon was great… programwas awesome… youth was responsive… WOW WOW WOW…
TeenStreet was an AWESOME experience!! Thanks to Manson and Shernise who joined our team, we were able to lead worship for the 3 day camp. Kudos to them for their amazing musicality, and to the whole band too for flexing with all the changes and totally enjoying the times of worship!
Meeting the youths was more than great… indescribable really. I have so many memories to treasure. For me, what was most special was seeing so many young women who are passionate for God. I really believe that the teenage years are so so precious… and I’m excited to see where God will lead them in the future!
Check out these pics (just a few)
Hmmm… I’m wondering if we should set up a Flicker account to show all our pics?
